I’m a huge fan of managing my personal energy. I see it as my highest leverage skill set. As an Executive Coach, I must show up fully present with clients and strive to be at the very top of my game for every call. As a business leader, business owner or professional, you have the same opportunity!

5 ways to boost your energy in 5-minutes daily

Research from Bruce Schneider, PhD. and author of Energetic Leadership, reveals that your influence with others is a function of your connection and your “resonating energy level” which fluctuates throughout the day. Energetic leadership (positive resonance) is simply a transfer of energy from one person to another. But there’s a catch, your energy must be higher than the person you are seeking to influence. The principle is called “entrainment!”

Here are 5-daily Energy Boosters you can do to improve your influence with others in just 5 minutes a day:

1. Reflect on your purpose and recite your personal mission.

Knowing who you are and what your purpose is leads to strength and conviction. I often claim my mission just before making contact. “I am a force for good. I inspire and equip leaders to discover their voice, lead their teams and achieve their wildly important goals.” That gets me in the right state of mind and fires me up!!

2. Review your gratitude list.

When you intentionally focus on the good in your life, you feel blessed and tap into a higher level of presence! When we focus on the richness of what we have, we shift into an abundant mindset and we see more opportunities and possibilities. Seeing and believing always precedes action! It’s nearly impossible to be grateful and to be fearful/see obstacles at the same time. Often, if I find myself slipping below the line in my thoughts, I’ll pull out my gratitude list. Keep a gratitude journal, and write in it 5 minutes a day!

3. Eat a diet of 80% whole foods and take whole food supplements.

Ok, you got me. this takes longer than 5 min. My favorite brand is MegaFood made in New Hampshire. 5. Align with your Source

For me, the ultimate energy source is being aligned with my Creator, through nature, prayer and my calling to serve others! When we align our talent/strengths with our purpose, (operating in our sweet spot) good things happen. About 10 years ago, my coach, challenged me to pray before every coaching session. Simple enough right, but not easy…My practice tripled that year!
